So, as you all know, it's my senior year of high school. Yay! Time for easy classes and parties every weekend, time for boys and no homework and not worrying at all about ANYTHING!

All sarcasm aside, it's been going pretty well thus far! Signing up for my SAT/ACT respectfully, getting on them scholarships and grants and generally freaking out about the future in random fits of stress and excitement characterize my days, but I still have yet to have been reduced to a 'unwashed hoodie with jeans' sort of girl! Here are two of the first outfits I wore to school, and why they were memorable:

This was me on the first day of school! I love the ballerina-type skirt that i stole from my mom's closet.

The moment that I walked out of the car towards the school and begun to feel nervous and insecure, I passed through a group of ghetto-girls and heard an immediate hollering of ""woo! Cinderella skirt!" followed by hyena-esque laughter.

And that's when I knew I was home.

This is one of the few outfits I bragged about with my non-fashionista friends, because while I had picked out the skirt and the orange belt; I couldn't find a shirt to match! Suddenly I pulled this one out and found that the colors matched perfectly!! It was a miracle enough to make my entire day.

I've been so busy with rehearsals everyday after school that i haven't captured many of my outfits on my camera, but honestly the experience is so worth it. I feel giddly happy, and I hope my year can stay this way.

Lately I find it increasingly difficult to choose between girly and masculine. Is it so weird to want to wear a suit to homecoming? Can I sustain my bow tie obsession while still loving knee high socks more than anything? And when will I finally snap at my hair, chopping it all off and dying it turquoise? I think I'll find the right balance soon.

The smell of dust after rain

Three things have been happening in my life since my Senior year has started:
Rehearsal, Glee and Doctor Who.
Rehearsal because I got a lead (squee!) in my school's production of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Glee because it's back on yay! And Doctor Who because that show is my favorite ever of life.

But through all of these things I seemed to have forgotten about you, dearest bloggity! Mostly because I am convinced you are only read by my mother, and that does wonders in motivating me to update you, but also because life can sometimes get in the way of things. I'll be posting more often now, updating you on the trials and tribulations that will be my senior year. For now, though, take a little inspiration post; just some nifty pictures that have accumulated in my files.

Anna Sui, the love of my life

Alas, how to break the news to the countless suitors begging at my doorstep? I seem to have fallen in love, in love with a 46 year old Asian-American woman whose name is Anna Sui.
This woman has a way with clothes. Her patterns, her colors; it's all a wonder of the visual sense. I don't think I've fallen so hard for a brand since Betsey Johnson came into my life at age 7, or Alexander McQueen at age 14.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

Amy Winehouse, found dead

Amy Winehouse was found dead this morning, in her London flat.
I am deeply saddened by this, though they don't yet know the cause of death, it may have been suicide. I really loved her as an artist and had hoped she could turn her life around. Sadly that did not happen, and she had joined the Infamous 27-club. This post is dedicated to her.

Yes indeed, viewers, I have actually taken a picture of myself for like, the first time this summer. Accomplishment? I think so.

Just preparing you for my creepy faces this whole post long. I think I've lost the ability to look cute in photos...

Also, isn't this mirror awesome? It's near the front door of our house, I love looking at it.

sadly I had no convenient other person to take my picture, so this is the only angle I could really get. I felt like a watermelon in this outfit!

Necklaces are my mothers, they're made of painted seed which only adds to the watermelon-affect.

I had painted my nails rainbow as well! The night before i spent at least an hour perfecting them... My nails stayed rainbow for about a week, which is a record for me!

A bit of a random post, but lately I've been a bit uninspired... Ah, well, that always changes eventually!

Sometimes i feel nostalgia for things that happen only months before

I have many a' picture on my computer, readers, and the other day I decided to look through them! A lot are really very memorable, and I thought I'd share them with you.

These pictures are from early January when my dad took my sister and I to Key West's southern-most point. This was the view of the sunset from the southernmost dock!

Southern-most hotel-house thingy. I forgot the name, but it looked like a colorful Addams family mansion, and I saw a bunny in the bushes!!

The tide was very strong when we got there, it sprayed us with icy water. The dock was lined with coral rocks.

There's a market very near where we live, The Yellow-Green Farmer's Market, to be exact; that my mom, my friend jessica and I visited a whiiile back. Like, when it was still cold. In florida.

Jessica is distracted by all the awesome placed in this market. Like, seriously. Too much awesome to handle, bro.

This old-fashioned Chrysler was on display and I, well, to put it bluntly....

SO. MUCH. TEA. I wanted to buy it aallllllll! I opted for an nice fruity green tea brew, though :)

They had these manicans all over the rafter of the huge warehouse where the market's held every weekend.

We bought these lucky trinkets from the Mystik Sisters shop there! Jessica and I know the owner, she's wonderful!

They had quoted signs all around the parking lot. They were abundant and clever.

This is the inside of a very large temple in which Jessica and I went to see a seraphic fire concert. It was beautiful, to put it dimly! Sadly this is the only non-blury picture from the entire night...

A few weeks later I found myself in the $1 book section of my library purchasing these lovely things! I have yet to finish reading Mystery! (And renting all the seasons of said TV special), but Big Fish is a must-read.

And that's all for now! One thing I really miss doing this summer is taking random pictures. I've been so caught up in being my mother's designated blog photographer that I seem to have forgotten the joys of capturing ordinary and beautiful moments for myself. Hopefully that'll change soon.

I started watching Skins UK recently and she is my favorite on the show, for her strange character and for her wonderful, if a bit kooky outfits.

Hannah's been featured in Vogue UK, Lula and a magazine called Dirty (correct me if my sources are wrong, most of these pictures I can't trace back to one)

It was an itsy bitsy teeny weeny vintage polka-dot bikini

It's almost three weeks into summer vacation, and I have yet to buy a swimsuit!
Honestly I'm holding out, seeing as how most stores only have either ill-fitting one pieces or teeny-tiny string bikinis that just make me uncomfortable. So this post is a ode to vintage swimsuits; which are coming back into style thank goodness!

Lacy one-piece romper-esque swimsuit! It's a whole lot of amazing in one small sentence!

This looks like something 5-year-old me would wear, and as some of my friends say I sort of dress like an elementary schooler anyway, so why not!

This is one of my favorite. It hugs curves so nicely; you can tell by the cut (and the comments by satisfied buyers of all shapes and sizes) and I just know it would go with some red lipstick and my Japanese parosel....
(Who has vintage bathing suit daydreams? Certainly not me!)

This. Is. Not. A. Dress. This is a bathing suit. I...I cannot even form a proper sentence to let you know how amazing this is.

This is not a romper, either. Totally a bathing suit. And a cute one, to boot!

So, now you know. I am obsessed with vintage bathing suits, and wish to burn all of the string bikinis in the world. Or at least, the ugly one.

I find myself with a rather strange liking for pin-ups. The classic lingerie, the playful compositions etc. but many people argue that it's still pornographic. I don't think so myself, though I joke around with my friends calling it "classy porn."

Hello, Bloggity! It's wonderful to see you again.
It'd also be wonderful if I had some outfits to show for the weeks I haven't posted, but sadly my camera has been out of use for a while. So I'll talk to you about what's on my mind!
All I seem to be able to think about is SUMMER! Never before has any school year dragged on so long.
I still have finals and a whole other week, but I've already started up a check list of what I want to do this summer;

1. Workout! (In 80's-esque spandex!)
My friend Jessica and I are going to be going to the gym together all summer long! I really want to delve into Yoga and Aerial with her and her friend Katie. RedRobin and I also have our weekly workouts; so it'll be double the exersize this time around!

2. Eat well!
I have this terrible habit of reverting back into a lazy bum of a teenager, sitting around eating oreos all day during the summer months. Well not this time! I want to maintain a healthy diet, which means laying off all the bread and sweet food that I inhale on a daily basis.

3. Bicycle
I, at the age of 16, still have yet to master the art of cycling. It's not really my mother's fault i was more into skateboarding when I was young, but now I really, really wanna learn!

4. Paint, sketch and ink
This year my art class has been, to say the least, disappointing. I haven't enjoyed one piece. SO this summer, I'm taking my artistic needs into my own hands! I'll see where it takes me, so far I already want to get started!!

5. Study hard
Next year I'm taking quite a few dificult classes (senior year, too!!) so I might a well get a head start!

6. Write
I used to write a lot of poetry, and I still rather enjoy writing insulting couplets in my spare time, but what I really want to work on is the novel in which I began a while back. I've neglected it this year in favor of mediocre essay writing

7. Dress well!
This is a given! I feel as though my outfits have lost a bit of their shock value and, being that attention whore that I am, I'm gonna mix it up a bit this summer.

8. Get organized
The whole 'organized mess' thing hasn't been working for me as of late, so I'm gonna suck it up and clean it up.

9. Drive
I got my permit in december of last year and have yet to even of pressed the gas peddale of a car. I gotta get on that!

10. Be happy!
I don't want to worry about boys or family issues or GPA, I wanna worry about whether or not I can climb that tree or wonder if I can convince my mom to let me buy a corset! I want to be a kid, and do kid-ish things. After all, I only have one High School summer vacation left.

Today was the final day of my school's stage production of Oliver! and the final show for quite a few of my older friends. Although I'll miss working with them, I am so satisfied with the way this show went. It couldn't of been better in my eyes.

I played an orphan, just a member of the ensemble, and a rose seller, which is a pun on my middle name.

But this post isn't about the show. It's about the outfits I wore after the shows this weekend!

So as per usual, these outfits were mostly stolen from my mother's closet.

It was Saturday night and time for the Cast Party!! We got to hold it in the family-owned restaurant of the girl who played Oliver. We literally had the place to ourselves; safe to say it was EPIC.

My mom caught me in mid-hair flip! My favorite part of this outfit is the beaded collar. Oh, you thought that was a necklace? ITS. A. COLLAR. The sheer amount of epic confounds me.

We got it at a nearby thrift store (Thriftarellas), but found out from a parent of a friend that it's from Panama! (and that they are very, very expensive)

The gloves I bought at Claires forever ago, and yet they got the most compliments of anything. Never underestimate fingerless gloves!!

I have waay too much fun that night, but still managed to salvage my voice and wake up early to boot!

Earlier today, seeing as it was mother's day, My mother, sister and I went out to eat at our favorite Peruvian place to celebrate my mom and her sheer amount of awesome.

This is what I wore. I loooove this dress! It's so 60's houswife. With the pastels of the leggings and the dress I felt like I should be eating little sandwiches and wearing a big gaudy hat.

I swear I'm not going to murder you, I just wanted a detail of my make-up before it got rubbed off whilst eating.

I felt kind of like an unhinged housewife with the red lipstick.

This was the kind of dress you have to wear a slip under so you wouldn't look lumpier that my Michelin marshmallow man, but my mom's slip was so long! It would always peek out a bit when I sat down. Anyway, I just took this because I liked the colors or....something. I might of forgotten. Might of...

So this weekend was magical. My clothes were magical. And now it time to go back to my decidedly-not-magical school. Ah, well. There's always next weekend.

Lime crime seems to have an amazing assortment of them, in colors I could never have even imagined going on my lips.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder

Okay.

It's been around two months since I last posted.

Please don't lynch me.

In all seriousness, I've missed you so, bloggy. You're a kind of stress relief for me, and I feel pretty wound tight now. Even if no one read you, I think I would want to keep going.

But I've been preoccupied, with school work and Drama and even my mother's blog (I'm her designated photographer); and I almost lost you.

I am determined that this will never happen again.

So with this post, I hope to begin anew.

I want to share some shots of something else in my daily life that's easily overlooked; family.

First and foremost, I obviously have to talk to you about my mother. She is a wonderful hardworking, stylish woman who has shaped me to be who I am today. I can't really help overlooking that sometimes when we argue, or when we disagree, but she has been and still is the best mother I could ever have. My friends are plotting to steal her away, but they'll have to get through me first!!!

Next there's my lovely, funny as hell and amazingly smart sister. She's kind of a bully but I love her just the same. We just recently stopped sharing a room, and I didn't realize how much I miss out on in her life now that she's just down the hall until the last time we hung out together. She'll be going away to Orlando this fall, and I'm really going to miss her; I didn't think I would this much.

Then there's my Abuela. Although she doesn't speak much English and I don't speak much Spanish, she still manages to communicate a lot of love to me and my family. Her empanadas are magical, and her humor is refreshing; I love her very much.

There's so much more I could mention, but sadly picture-wise I don't think I can post anything. There's my cousin, a beautiful girl just hitting her growth spurts and voice changes (she taller than me now!) with a passion for Pokemon and acting. She's so beautiful already, it's strange to watch her grow!

Her mother, my aunt is equally beautiful, and has been like a second mother to me all my life. Much love!

And last but not least, there's you Blogger family. I know you read and listen and for some reason care, and I love you for it.

Hey guys! This has been an....interesting week, to say the least. With the beginning of a new semester, I've got a lot of work to do!! (Especially artwork) But I can still say I'm awfully excited, seeing as this very semester I have my school's spring musical Oliver to perform! It's going to be so much fun!!

I also get to sing a solo in my Drama class, it's called Doin What Comes Naturally from Annie Get Your Gun.

All that news aside; This week I was so flabbergasted by the onslaught of work that I had grown out of over the short break that I only got in one outfit picture! Sorry about that guys but don't worry; The outfits weren't that great. Trust me.

This is my trench coat! (ignore my distracted face, it was early) I love it to death; it's from dots. The boots are my sister's from Stein Mart. Underneath I'm wearing a nice Roxy shirt (didn't get a picture of it, we were late again!)

I was soooo comfy all day! This is why I love winter, folks! Layers and layers of clothes!

School's come creeping back into my life and most of this week will be engulfed by tedious studying and homework.
I working on an art piece at the moment that I'm super excited about! I shall show you pictures as soon as I take some. For now here are the outfits I've worn to school thus far:

This outfit was actually the week before school to go out with some friends. I got loads of compliments!

Claires hair bow, converse shoes and thrifted glass jewelry

The necklace I got for a Christmas present from a local Farmer's market.

Random picture taken while I was distracted by something interesting. This dress makes me so happy...

Thrifted white dress. It's absolutely amazing! I looked like a funky church girl with the socks and the brightly patterned coat.

And I wore some skull earrings that I bought at a Betsey Johnson boutique with my Christmas money!! They're very Day-of-the-Dead inspired.

This picture is fuzzy, but it was 6 AM, cut me some slack. Everyone called my I love Robinson dress an 'old lady dress', when I myself think it's waaay too hip for my Grandmother.

You were kind of a bitch. A very very necessary and life changing bitch.

This year was a stark contrast of horrible and amazing; but I enjoy focusing more on the amazing and not on the I'm-going-to-write-a-grumpy-rant-on-this-stupid-fucking-year.

Amazing upon amazing things:

My step-sister got married

I saw snow

I started a blog

I loved myself

I found out that I had a lot of friends, then got more

I got lots of new clothes!

I cut my hair, then decided to grow it out again

I spoke my mind

I learned a lot

My nephew was born

I passed two AP exams

I got a tea strainer

I went to Art Basel

I watched a lunar eclipse

I had fun

Speaking of amazing things, here are some outfits that I wore this year:

A sort of kind of recent picture, at least I posted it here. I still adore this dress

my most most MOST recent outfit picture. An amazing sweater stolen from my mother's closet and a dress I wore to the first quince I've ever been invited to. Not to mention the old man shoes with my little church girl socks.

Yes, I classifiy all of my clothing items with long elaborate names like that.

an old outfit at my old place. These jeans are a little wonkey on me now, so it's nice to have a decent picture of them. I still of course wear my gorillaz tee-shirt religiously and I'll never give up the purse Isha got me from India!

Not particularly an outfit picture, but there was some cool lighting in my mom's bathroom mirror and I was wearing my Calvin Klein overalls.

Had to snap a photo; it was a simple outfit but one with a lot of character!

My Green Day concert shirt always gives me flashbacks to how magical that concert was...

Ah, the holidays

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Yule, Happy winter break, happy anything to all!

Tis the season for stores to make money off of lights on strings, fake trees and giant blow-up Santa clawses, and the season for people to buy said things without being deemed crazy. It doesn't ever become a white Christmas down here in Florida, but I can say we sure do Christmas some justice here in my house.

Just sitting down and spending time with family is one of the things I love most about Christmas, and it really makes me thankful for all the little things I have.

So make sure not to shoot your eye out, or get drunk and loose your car, cause this December you should say goodbye to 2010 with a metaphorical bang!

My internet was out for a very VERY long while, and I've been smothered in homework, but I have many a many things to share with you now that I'm back!

I turned 16!!

Now when I sing Sound of Music songs I can be accurate!

My birthday's November 27th and I'm a sagittarius. Maybe that has something to do with my recent obsession with archery..?

Anyway, I thought I might share with you my wishlist for good old Sandy Claws himself.

I got toe socks from my fellow sock-loving best friend this Christmas and have a lust for more. They're so comfy and cute!!

Betsey Johnson becoming Steve Madden?

The Betsey Johnson label has been bought out.

I can't believe it. Betsey's been my favorite brand since age 7, and I knew eventually she may want to retire and give it to a close friend or family member; but instead Steve Madden bought it and wants to make drastic changes to its image.

I'm sort of crushed. I've never really boughten any of her clothes before (due to financial things, i can't really buy designer very often) but her purses, perfumes and accessories fill my room. I love her clothing so much; I even made my mom promise me my prom dress would be from her line.

I guess that won't happen anymore.

So two days ago, Jessica, RedRobin and I watched Rocky Horror Picture show and V for vendetta. It was quit a magical experience, make-shift smores, pizza, and walking around my neighborhood at night wearing a Guy Fawkes mask and all.

At least the neighbors are now too scared of me to ever mess with me...

A day after my last post, my blockage disappeared and I decided to try and participate in NaNoWriMo and write the novel I've been putting off. And I've got you to thank----I just had a story epiphany! Thanks much!

That aside, I think an unhealthy fondness for my halloween candy has put me in an almost-ill-but-not-quite kind of state, so I'm laying low for today. Got lots of homework to do, so I'll come back to this post later and add some pictures of the past two days.

I want a wife who will not bother me with rambling complaints about a wife’s duties. Ever just want to rip your hair out of your skull? Thinking, everything is so confusing! I'm grateful that I have so many choices in life; but it's overwhealming! I have so many things that I want to do; to draw, to paint, to sing, to write, to exersize, to play guitar, to study, to browse the web, to blog, to vlog, to garden, to listen to music, to read, to take photographs, to find a part time job; TOO MUCH AT ONCE JUST RUSHES INTO ME! I don't know what to concentrate on in fleeting moments or, as I fear, in life! I don't want to do just one thing with my life, but what if I stay this confused? What will I do then; go from job to job and place to place, never settling, never resting?
I couldn't live like that. It's just an information-overload. So many wonderful things that I want to do....and to know I have to choose makes me sad. It's even worse that without choosing it stresses me out more.
I hope this confusion passes, like most of my emotions.

Guess what, imaginary readers!

I've decided to start posting outfits again! So here's to it; a wonderful outfit I picked out for school picture day (earlier today, actually)

I absolutely LOOOOOVE this dress! The pattern, the pleats; everything! Also the psuedo-leather belt looked pretty snippy with it.

I also wore my favorite pair of shoes which are, evidently, my mom's. They look like a grandpa's boat shoes and are amazing with socks of any kind. I can't wait til its cold enough to wear my knee-highs....

Also wore some very pretty bracelets, courtesy of my mother's drawers.

So i straightened my hair today AND IT WAS RAINING AAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHH Luckily my mom reminded me to get an umbrella before I left. My hair is STILL straight!! And to end this off, here are some of my current inspirations/interests/random-pictures-found-on-tumblr:

Sorry for not posting for so long!
A few little things called school, homework, and drama club have been consuming my life as of late.
I know the first two excuses aren't all that exciting, but the last one is! I auditioned and got a part in our school's fall musical Funny Thing Happened On the Way to the Forum. If that musical doesn't ring a bell, you should know it was written by the man who made Into the Woods The show is beyond hilarious, and in my part I get to be as silly as possible. This kind of role is new to me, so I'm more exhilarated than usual!
Aside from that, life's been pretty normal. Joined some clubs. Sketch some sketches. Took some calculus tests. Been in high school.

One thing that was GREAT is I saw Dirty Dancing for the first time! It was pretty awesome. I know right now you're thinking; ARK, how come you haven't seen Dirty Dancing for the entirety of your 15 and 3 quarter years of living? I'll tell you; because I’ve seen more indie-off-the-beaten-path movies than any classics.
Forest Gump? Never seen it.
The three original Indiana Jones movies? Nope.
Pretty in Pink? Naw.
You can push your jaw back up now. I know it's quite shocking, trust me my friends tease me about it all the time, but it's not like I've never seen Rocky Horror Picture Show or anything...oh wait, you haven't? Oh...

Hello, bloggy!

I started my junior year of high school this Monday, and I must say this is the most UNORGANIZED year of high school I've been through thus far!

I've been much worse when it comes to organization of my backpack, but the organization i'm referring to is classes.

My classes.

My friend's classes.

And the administrations blatant ignoring of those in need of a major schedule change and fast. Like me. And my friends.

Still, no matter how much i complain about it it won't change the fact that I haven't been successful in changing my classes yet, even though I'm going to miss an entire week of AP Chemistry.

Every time i think of our administration, I see this:

But as for outfit posts, I've been forgetting my camera. Almost everyday. So no new outfits as of yet, but i will say that I've looked pretty snazzy. Although my hair was a bit like this;

Was someone watching Ferris Bueller? Maybe...

So for one of my first English assignments we had to watch and analyze all the senate candidates and their slogans and controversy etc. and I could barely make heads or tails of it. If you can, leave a comment and tell me about your take on the mess. And tell me about YOUR first day of school!

But no, really. RedRobin and other friends of mine that I force my obsessions on know I've been drooling over any and all capes that I see....But I never seem to find any in any stores of reasonable price! Plenty online, let me tell you, but none in person. And I don't buy online....I MUST CONFORM! (Because that's always gone well for you....)

Another is toe shoes. Tavi's toe shoes. Tavi's Comme des Garcons toe shoes. Please, mom? I'll take them for walks and clean up after them and let them stay in my room. I promise they won't be a bother!

Also, and don't you laugh at me imaginary readers, I wish for Garb. Yeah, the medieval word for clothing. I want an outfit for the Florida Renaissance Fair. Or just a corset; I could work that thing like you won't believe.

All selfish reasoning aside---these are some items that I’d like to have for some back to school mix-matching sessions and generally shocking the people at my school who're already getting used to my strange dress at school. I mean, I wore a TUTU and no one really commented. We can't have that; I need to disturb the peace with my clothing!

Keep wishing, keep doing

Hello, Blog!
A quick update, seeing as I've been spending time with my beautiful cousin Natasha for the past two days. I've just recently moved, and wanted to talk a bit about that.
Moving is strange, emotionally.
We moved three months ago into another apartment from our old apartment, and quite frankly at first during that move all I felt was sadness; I hadn't moved in years. But then as I grew used to the factor of a temporary home, I took on a mindset of future hope and a liking of the house sort of like a long-term vacation home. That didn't last long; soon it felt permanent. And, of course as the world works in mysterious ways, as soon as that feeling crawled under my skin; we were moving again.
But to be honest, this move took a LONG TIME. It kept getting post-poned and post-poned etc. etc. All for valid reasons (sort of) but it left with an empty, drifting feeling, to have my stay pro-longed in a house I had already detached myself from. It felt sort of...lonely.
The feeling I got when we were first moved into the new place was relief. Relief beyond measure. But the morning after, I was kind of scared. I felt as though the house was still the owner's; that I was simply a lodger left to live alone.

I really didn't expect it to be so hard to adjust to this place, but now that I have, I know its home.

And that, my dear readers, is all that matters to me

Wishes of Lemonade, Time and Background Music

Hello Bloggity! After putting up so many FEMININE posts about EMOTION *caps words said in a nasally voice*, I've decided to give you a testosterone-filled post in the shaped on a body-builder! In other words, another inspiration post. LET'S GIT ER DONE

I just recently finished one of my new all-time favorite anime’s, Eureka 7. The story was creative (although admittedly a bit fantastical and confusing at some points), the character well-rounded and likeable and its also one of the few anime's I’ve watched to have a good balance of romance and action.

Although I know my mom would say they talk too much. She's more of a Sayuki Reload/Samurai 7 fan.

The style is very unique and the animation doesn't lag behind on certain episodes like a lot of mainstream shows do (Naruto ring a bell?). It's inspired me to start drawing again, and experiment a little (as if having 5 styles being thrown around wasn't experimental enough).

Plus it was fun to watch. Giant robots, anyone?

Another thing that I've been doing is reviewing the Fall 2010 Ready to Wear collections of some of my favorite designers. Here are some of the highlights;

First things first; Betsey Johnson. A woman after my own heart; my favorite designer since age 7. The lady who makes fashion shows FUN.

Betsey mustache? Verily.

Next thing that caught my eye was Chanel. I mean, its Chanel. Enough said.

But actually, not enough said. I feel almost guilty liking some of these pieces when some looked like the life’s work of a professional hunter. Either that, or wookie is finally in. My time to shine.

There are a whole bunch of other collections I liked, but these were the first to come to mind, so please make due with these. One last thing I wished to mention.

Children continued

This morning, at 12:45 (just about I think), my nephew was born.
My step sister just gave birth. I contacted people immediately and was so shocked by the fact this morning; my boyfriend jokingly congratulated me on realizing the miracle of life but quite frankly he was right.
I just couldn't believe little Ariel was well...a person. A living, breathing thing. One of the most beautiful living, breathing things I’ve seen for a while. So later on today, after some sleep I got to meet him. They were still in the hospital obviously, and he was asleep for most of the time so we didn't formally meet and I haven't held him yet; but he was just so...amazing. His very existence seemed to awaken some slumbering knowledge in the back of my brain; and answer to an old question arose and though it felt kind of silly, it was true.

So THAT'S how babies are made.

Now I know what you're expecting. For me to say, I've changed my mind about having kids now! But that, my dear, dear, imaginary readers, would be a damned lie.

Children...

So this past Monday, I had slept over RedRobin's for the night and ended up going to her church for volunteer hours at their Vacation Bible School. Everything was going seemingly well, and we were a bit slap-happy from the night before (Facebook and Ice cream cake!!). Then we found out we were assigned to the three-year olds.
RedRobin looked scarred.
I looked tired already.
I used to help out at my day-care, so I know about kids of that age; inquisitive little devils....
I also know that they stick to me like krazy glue.
So off we went and all I can say is I honestly cannot picture having kids anymore. They were sweet and adorable; but evil and selfish at the same time. Not to mention too young to understand certain aspects of HYGEINE..... (A few drooled a lot, and we didn't have wipes at that moment)
But all wasn't bad! There was one adorable little boy named William (or Sir William, as RedRobin called him) who was soft-spoken and adorable xD
And apparently, as RR found out the next day, British.
To add insult to injury, today we discussed childbirth and how they literally have to cut at your vagina to get your baby out without you tearing it. All that came to mind was...
Ow.
So I'm kind of frightened by the idea of having children now. My step-sister's going to be due any day now (She's having my little step-nephew) and I'm flabbergasted on how...prepared she is. I can't comprehend marriage, childbirth, or anything so....permanent.

It probably just my age, but do you ever feel this way, dear viewers?

Inspirational things, people, and times

An entry or two before this one, I mentioned art/writers block and i thought i would share with

my viewers what inspires me out of my funks.

Firstly, I'd like to share a quite recent obsession with the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels.

I've only read the first volume and half of the second, but i just love the style and characters.

I also kinda want to be Ramona Flowers when I grow up. Which is an indirect way of saying I want to dye my hair a crazy color (If you're reading this Mom, it’s a hint). And before you ask, I started reading the graphic novels BEFORE the movie ads came out....I just was reminded of it by Michael Cera's adorable face.

Another thing I’ve been doing is reading. Of course I've been reading a whole bunch of things, but the other day I picked up a trusty poetry book i once bought with my friend Jessica (whose blog is here); Monologue of a Dog which is a poetry collection of Wislawa Szymborska. She's a Polish Nobel-Prize winner and one of my favorite poets.
(Mostly because i don't read much poetry; It either her, or The Drunken Boat)
Her simplistic writing cuts to the chase without using ten adjectives I’ve never heard of in one sentence. And that, in itself, is gold. It got me wanting to write again; hence the updates here on my bloggity-dearest.

Then there are the little things that inspire me to work harder; like other artists online that I'm secretly devout to, through their Deviantart pages or even their webcomics. Only a few examples would be In Your Head, Dango Sunshine, Hell Kitchen, and I'm going to stop while I’m ahead.

It never ceases to amaze me how much talent there is online (Of course there's also the non-talented that are popular for some odd reason, but I won't get into that). So many people trying and, hopefully, succeeding to live off their craft; whether it’s as a comic book artist or as a photographer.

Some other links I’d like to feature are of blogs I enjoy and check up on regularly; Tinytoadstool, Stylerookie, TheSeaofFertility, MusiciansintheDark, DaysGoBy, etc. etc. etc. ETC.

An Update to Begin All Updates

Hello, hello, hello!
Please excuse the impudence of my non-posting actions, my lords and ladies, but all rejoice! My slump/funk/extremely boring and uncreative phase of summer is over! So even thought these pictures are excruciatingly late, here an update on my summer in general, some "daily" outfit posts, and my epic friends.

I think I’ll start off with some beautiful shots of RedRobin and me at an anonymous beach of sorts.

I was looking at the island across the water, wondering why no one ever just settled onto one of them and stayed there.
I believe RedRobin concurs with my previous statement.

Sadly, I’m unable to post the beautiful pictures of my dad and my step mom here, since I showed my face in both, and you know that’s unacceptable. The cuteness would just RUIN your processor.

The next few pictures are on a random rainy day when my mother and I went shopping :)

So sorry for the late-ness of this post, but you see, I’ve been suffering from what all writers, artists, and creative people in general dread; a blockage. Not in my intestinal track, that goodness, but more of a cap on my creativity. I couldn’t think of what to tell you guys!!! I haven’t even drawn in a week!

So I must ask, what do YOU do when you’re experiencing an artist’s/writer’s block? How do you get out of it?

Now it’s come to my attention that in my poll, three people (or rather, everyone) voted for hearing about art in a blog. So this post is dedicated to the art of the only 50+ man I will ever claim to love (sorry George Clooney fans); Hayao Miyazaki.
The other day my best friend RedRobin and I were watching a marathon of his films, I own almost all of them with my collection as follows:
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
Howl’s Moving Castle
Castle in the Sky
Naussica of the Valley of the Wind.
My Neighbor Totoro
And FOR NOW those are the only ones I own. I love them all dearly, and I have a new found love every time I re-watch them. My personal favorite is Castle in the Sky!

Hello Bloggity! I'd like to discuss and warn you about something; Avatar the last Airbender was horrible. Don't see it; rent it later to laugh at it, but do NOT support this film.

It was....just.....horrid. I'm not too happy with the casting, but even THAT aside, they took out key characters and rushed through the Water Book waaaay too fast. They skipped whole parts and added useless ones in between. And the bending sometimes looked too cheesey.

Oh and especially don't see it in 3-D, it wasn't very 3-D at all, honestly. (then again i dislike 3-D anyway xP)

And NOW is when I complain about casting. In my mind, all the races were asian; since their traditions, surroundings, and such suited that culture. I classified them as such:
Fire Nation- Japanese
Earth Kingdom- Chinese
Water Tribes-Inuit
Air Nomads- Tibetian
I know I'm not the mastermind behind Avatar, but if you read between the lines of the original series, you can see where i'm coming from, right?
The only asian race they had were some scattered Earth benders, and all of the Fire Nation was Indian. ARGGGGHHHHHH *tears out hairs*

So now that I'm done complaining, What do you think was the worst movie let-down in your life?
And what was the worst sequel to a movie you loved?

Good Morning Bloggity, it's been a while hasn't it?

4 days! I'm shocked at my ability to hold myself back from posting on you.

But I’ll leave whispering sweet nothings into your ear for later. For now, I would like to continue sharing with you my life.

First off, I would like to introduce my family to you:
This is my lovely mother. She's the one who convinced me to make a blog (three years of convincing, to be exact). It'll probably turn out different than what she expects, but then again I pride myself in being unpredictable~ I am eternally striving to be as classy, unique and stylish as she is.

Here's my daddy! He's an amazingly intelligent, funny Scott-Irishman native to my state. He loves trivia just as much as I do; I hope he loves this blog!

This is my sister. As any older sister should, she terrorizes me daily, in the most loving of ways of course. Her laid-back attitude is something I admire. You'll be seeing more of her here!

I realized in my earlier post i failed to mention all my hobbies and interests. Here I would like to spam you with them.

One thing I enjoy waaaay too much is webcomics. I'm constantly found on Smackjeeves webcomic hosting, reading such things as Vampire Fetish, Hell Kitchen, Beast Hunt, Penelope's Far Out-Maniac, etc.
You should check them all out, or the site in general, since it's filled with amazing comics and artists.

Another hobby of mine, if not obvious by the background of my blog is reading. My reading list at the moment consists of Re-reading some old favorites; for example the Series of Unfortunate Events books and The Harry Potter Series and of course brushing up on the classic's like All of Shakespeare's tragedies, The Invisible Man, Dr. Jeckl and Mr. Hyde, The Prince, Candide, etc.

And I don't blame you if you were lost at Shakespeare.

Another obvious one; I love fashion. Clothing, accessories, purses, shoes; and the general thrill of taking multiple pieces and putting them together to form an outfit that gets compliments wherever you go is something I do and love practically everyday.
(And yes, I definatly wear pretty things JUST to get complimented;
I also have a thing for sarcasm.)

Sadly, this post will be lacking in any outfits of mine, since my camera outlet that allows me to upload pictures seems to have displaced itself. Poor thing has a terrible sense of direction. These pictures are from Style.com; Spring 2010 Ready to wear collection of Chanel, Ana Sui and Betsey Johnson.

Lastly, but not leastly, Art. Drawing, painting, sketching, inking, watercolor, oil, pastel, everything and anything I love. Yes I'm not very well practiced in ALL mediums, but I hope to be eventually, Art is something I love so much, I hope to make a career out of it. The above is Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss, one of my all-time favorites.

Good Evening any and all friends/strangers that have stumbled upon this page!

This is my new blog, and you may call me ARK.

In said blog i hope to convey to you all of my current interests, opinions, and pictures. I'd like to think of this space as a home away from home; my watchers as my quirky but charming family.
As a beginning, I'd like to show you some of my pictures:
This is me, just yesterday afternoon in one of my favorite skirts. A comfortable, but retro outfit of mine. I plan on trying daily outfit posts, to share my style with you.
Here are some things I Like:

I like Teddy, she's been my buddy for 14 years now.

I like my best friend, and her adorable cats. For our purposes, her name is RedRobin; My loyal sidekic--er friend.

I like my boyfriend. In most pictures he appears as an amorphous shape, so this is as good as it gets. His name will remain unknown.

I like henna tattoos. Unhealthily so. Haven't gotten one done in a while...

I like teasets, teacups and tea parties. And tea, too. This particular cup is RedRobin's.

And for now, i shall leave this as my first blog post to you. I feel as though this is the start of a beautiful relationship. Be writing again soon,
